Sciences Computer - Main Screen

The Sciences Computer system provides many functions for the intelligence and operations of the StarShip.
One of the most prominent devices is the main screen, and as such placed right in front of the Captain's seat.
The main screen has many purposes.

Main screen - view into space

The main screen offers a view of the universe when the main screen is not allocated to a function or to the LCARS.
Any view direction is selectable. The heading is specified with 2 view angles: Right Ascension and Declination.

Heading Display console The Right Ascension (RA) value is in the range of 000° .. 359°, the Declination value (DEC) is in the range of -90° .. +90°.
The view angles are set with the Heading Display console.
The 2 buttons on the left side of the displays increase and decrease the Right Ascension (RA) view angle. 000° is straight ahead along the current course of the StarShip.
The 2 buttons on the right side of the displays increase and decrease the Declination (DEC) view angle. +90° is above the StarShip, -90° is below the StarShip.

The constellation Orion

This is the main screen when the simulation is just started. The text "The final frontier" is actually in light blue, but shooting the picture without refections of the screen from the surroundings is a bit tricky. The text disappears when the view magnification setting is no longer on 'HOLD', but changed to any magnification available. I have not yet built the hardware (some illuminated buttons with fixed magnification values), but I tested the response of the software when the magnification factor is changed.
Allocating the main screen to any other function wipes the text, and the stars of course.
